Pope John Paul II has declared the Year of the Eucharist, October 2004 through October 2005.  As stated in the Catholic Post (Vol. LXXXI, No. 38) the pope said, the Eucharist furnishes Christians with spiritual energy and a plan for living.  It is the ideal way for the faithful to identify with Christ’s message and His saving sacrifice, which should in turn have an impact on peace and justice issues in the wider society, he said.

In the Diocese of Peoria, Bishop Jenky has designated 20 parishes as pilgrimage sites for the Year of the Eucharist. Holy Family, in Lincoln, has the blessing of being one of the pilgrimage sites. We welcome the faithful throughout the Diocese of Peoria to Holy Family to participate in our regular liturgies and the special events that will be planned throughout the year.

As part of our celebration of the Year of the Eucharist, Holy Family invites you to participate in the Eucharistic Adoration and Exposition each Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. At least one person must be present with the Holy Eucharist at all times during the Exposition.  Please take time to come and be in the real presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, during the time of Eucharistic Adoration and Exposition.  Sign up on the bulletin board at the main entrance of church or call the Parish Office (732-4019) to see how you can help.
