Adult Faith Formation and Education Programs
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for entering the Church. All of the sessions are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the Religious Education Center. The Rite of Christian Initiation consists of four segments:
1. The Inquiry Stage meets mid-September through the Feast of Christ the King (the end of November.) During this stage, we discuss the various beliefs and practices of the Catholic Faith. This is a very informal stage and there is no obligation to continue. This stage ends with the Rite of Acceptance. If there is interest, this stage can be repeated later in the year as part of our Adult Education Program.
2. The Catechumenate Stage meets from the First Sunday of Advent until the week before Ash Wednesday and studies the teachings of the Church in greater detail. This stage ends on with the Rite of Election at the Cathedral.
3. Lent is a time of personal reflection and prayer called the Purification Stage and culminates at the Easter Vigil with reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
4. The last stage is referred to as Mystagogy and provides those entering the Church with an opportunity to reflect on how they want to use the gifts they have received.
For more information about RCIA please call the parish offices..
Weekly Scripture Sharing
Weekly Scripture Sharing is held every Wednesday morning from 9:30 am to 11:00am at the Religious Education Center. Other Scripture courses of study and adult faith formation programs are offered throughout the year.
WATCH Retreat Program
WATCH is a retreat program offered in the parish for women and men interested in deepening their spiritual life. The weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, provides opportunities to listen to others share their faith, participate in both quiet and communal prayer, and to meet other members of Holy Family Parish.
