Attendance: Every effort must be made for perfect attendance at Religious Education classes. However, we also realize that there are occasions when a student may legitimately have to miss a class. Excused absences include illness of the student; illness of a family member which may make it impossible for the child to have transportation to class, a funeral or other family emergency. All absences must be called in to 735-3520 before classes begin. Please leave a message if no one is available. If a student misses class, parents are asked to contact the catechist to obtain any missed assignments.
Student Conduct: Student programs at Holy Family are designed to foster faith through an atmosphere of listening and sharing of ones faith. Integral to this atmosphere is appropriate behavior. We believe every student has a right to be treated with respect. When in Church, students are expected to show reverence and prayerfulness by genuflecting before the Blessed Sacrament and participating fully in the liturgy. The classrooms use for our Religious Education Program are generally used by Carroll Catholic School. Students are reminded that the contents of a desk are the private personal property of a Carroll Catholic School student. Our Religious Education Program uses an gradual approach to correcting inappropriate behavior beginning with a verbal warning by the catechist or teacher. If the student does not respond favorably, a note will be sent home to the parents and must be signed and returned for admission back into class. A conference with the Director of Religious Education, parents and student will be required for those who persistently disrupt the learning process.
Loss of Textbook or Materials: In the event of a lost textbook, Bible, or tote bag, please contact the office so that new ones can be purchased. If a student does not have a textbook for two consecutive weeks, parents will be required to purchase a new one.
Cancellation of Classes: If all public schools are closed in Lincoln due to inclement weather, we will suspend classes. In the event of inclement weather occurring during the day, please listen to a local radio station or TV station. All class cancellations will be announced by 3:00 p.m. All schools will be notified of the cancellation before the classes are dismissed for the day.
Arrival and Dismissal: Students must arrive through the front doors of Carroll Catholic School and go to the cafeteria. Dismissal is from the front doors only. Students who arrive after 6:30 p.m. must notify the Director of Religious Education before proceeding to class. If a students needs to depart class before the usual ending time, parents are required to send a note to the teacher. Parents of students in first, second and third grades are required to come into the building and personally pick up their child. Please be prompt.
